Sleep Duration & Quality Logger
Simple local-storage sleep-hours tracker, no database.
How it works
This logger stores your entries only in your own browser, using local storage, so nothing is sent anywhere and no account is needed. Each entry records a date, hours slept and a simple quality rating from one to five. Entries for the same date replace each other, so correcting a mistaken night is just a matter of re-entering it. The weekly average is calculated from your most recent seven entries, which smooths out single unusual nights without hiding a longer trend.
How to read the result
Compare your seven-entry average with the seven-to-nine-hour range recommended for most adults, and look at quality alongside hours: eight hours of restless sleep and six hours of deep, refreshing sleep feel very different. A pattern of short nights plus low quality for two weeks or more is worth discussing with a clinician, especially if daytime sleepiness, loud snoring or morning headaches are part of the picture.
One practical tip
Log each morning, before the day blurs the night. A thirty-second entry kept daily beats a detailed diary kept for three days and abandoned, and after a month you will have a genuinely useful record to show patterns around late meals, alcohol, exercise or screen use.
Also note anything unusual on short nights, such as late caffeine, alcohol or a hot bedroom, in a separate note if you wish, since those details turn a bare hours log into a record you can actually learn from.
Review the log weekly rather than daily, since one poor night is normal and only a repeated pattern, such as several short nights in a row, signals a habit or environment worth changing.
